Welcoming 2011!

“Another fresh new year is here . . .

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me

To live each day with zest . . .

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity

Once more to right some wrongs,

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And sing more joyful songs!”

How much do you lie?

I’m watching an Oprah show about being “normal” and she had Dr. Phil talking about how much people lie… I’m not a fan but what he said was super funny and worth sharing 🙂

“on average men lie 6 times a day, women lie 3”

What do they lie about?

Women most common lies:
#1 I’m fine, there’s nothing wrong.
#2 No, this isn’t new I had this “old thing” forever
#3 This was cheap, I got it on sale
#4 I got a headache

Men:
#1 It’s fine nothings wrong
#2 This is my last drink
#3 No, that doesn’t make you fat
#4 I’m on the way (when they are not even almost on the way)

Too funny!

Fair cultural exchange?

Interesting how we can never predict what will trigger a intriguing thinking process….

Today I got to the club and turned on the music, as I always do, but lately I’ve been listening to a Brazilian radio online (because I haven’t transferred my musics back since I formatted my computer).

I’ve been enjoying listening to the Brazilian radio because I can listen to all the musics that have been playing in Canada, plus stay up to date on musics been played in Brazil as well….

So as I think about that “advantage” I realized that the music “made in America” spreads all around the world, anywhere you go today you can listen to Kate Perry, Rhianna, Justin Bieber, Black Eye Peas, etc but in here you will never listen to Skank, Paralamas, Ivete Sangalo… so America “gives” but gets nothing back. It’s not a “fair exchange”.

When you think about it, it’s the same way with anything cultural: music, movies (maybe movies they get a little but very little), books (same, they get some but not much), TV shows…

All of sudden it makes sense to why Continue reading

One more down, many more to go….

One more weight loss challenge group finished today….it’s always a bitter sweet happiness 🙂 I LOVE to see people’s results, I find so much join in looking at everyone’s “before & after” pictures but it’s sad to “finish” it as some people will stay in touch and some, not so much. I do get connected with everyone and care on how they are doing….

This group lost 362 lbs in 12 weeks and a total os $1065 was paid out to the winners! The winners had fantastic results:

Most inches lost went for Chris with 22.5 inches and 24 lbs lost ($75)

3rd place went for Mandy with 17.4 lbs and 11.041% lost ($198)

2nd place went for Dave with 34.2 lbs and 14.805% lost ($297)

and 1st place went for Sara with 26.4 lbs and 17.165%lost ($495)

Congratulations to all this amazing winners but mostly to every participant that completed this Challenge! One of the qualities I admire the most is people that have the ability to finish what they start!!!!

Personally, for me one of the best moments is to sit down and read the feedback forms 🙂 Jim Rohn used to say that one of the best feelings is when your name show up on someone else “testimony”…. I would say that is knowing that you made an impact, that you give even a little contribution to someone’s else life and that’s a BIG part of why I do what I do. To be able to make a contribution!

Here are some I got today 🙂 (thank you all) Continue reading
